Brief Summary of Event

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) of Dr. D. Y. Patil Dnyan Prasad University’s School of Management & Research, Pune, in collaboration with IIT Bombay’s National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC), organized a Business Model Competition under the theme “Turn Your Idea into the Next Billion-Dollar Startup!”.

The event served as a platform for young innovators to present their entrepreneurial ideas, gain expert guidance, and prepare for national-level exposure. A total of 31 teams participated, showcasing diverse and creative concepts spanning sustainability, food & beverages, technology, blockchain, and mobility solutions. Among the standout ideas were Boilto Soil – Boilvansh and Unigo – Vehicle Sharing for Same Destination, which demonstrated strong potential to become early-stage startups. Concepts like sugar-free dry fruit ladoos and an NFT Launchpad integrated with blockchain technology were highly appreciated for their feasibility, while initiatives such as Book Your Book and mushroom cultivation showed promise after reframing and refinement.

To provide professional mentorship, ED Cell organized a special session by Mr. Aditya Deshpande, Senior Incubation Manager, DPU Unitech Foundation. He shared valuable advice on problem-solution fit, market validation, scalability, innovation, and effective pitching. He encouraged students to focus not only on ideation but also on execution, adaptability, and resilience. His insights greatly helped students refine their business models and motivated them to face healthy competition with confidence.

The event began with a welcome and felicitation of the guest by Dr. Kiran Kale, HOD of all Management Programmes, who highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial learning in management education.

The mentoring session for the upcoming competition concluded on a high note, with students gaining confidence, industry-relevant insights, and encouragement to take their startup ideas further and present themselves to win the competition. The mentoring session was a resounding success, reinforcing the ED Cell’s commitment to building a strong entrepreneurial culture at DYP DPU’s School of Management and Research.
