The Placement Cell at the DYPDPU’s SMR comprises seasoned professionals drawn from both industry and academia. This dedicated team plays a pivotal role in guiding and preparing students for recruitment into leading business organizations globally. A meticulous approach is adopted during the placement process to ensure an optimal alignment between students' competencies and the job profiles offered by various organizations.
A significant component of the placement team's initiatives involves the transformation of student attitudes, enhancement of interpersonal skills, and comprehensive personality development. These objectives are pursued through a series of structured interventions including workshops, assessment centres, classroom-based training sessions, and panel discussions. Additionally, guest lectures by prominent industry leaders are organized to provide insights into real-world corporate expectations.
Throughout the academic program, students are encouraged to engage in industry-relevant short-term projects, designed to deepen their domain-specific knowledge and skills. These projects are integrated into the curriculum from the first semester onwards, ensuring that students remain abreast of contemporary industry trends and practices, thereby augmenting their employability.
Internships constitute a critical aspect of the students’ professional development. By offering hands-on practical experience, internships facilitate a smoother transition from academia to industry. They also serve as a mechanism for organizations to identify and nurture future leaders. In light of this, the Placement Cell places substantial emphasis on the execution of internships and provides continuous support to ensure that students derive maximum benefit from the experience.
Students undertake a mandatory summer internship lasting eight weeks, scheduled between the second and third semesters. This internship provides an invaluable opportunity for students to gain a realistic understanding of industry operations, professional conduct, and competitive dynamics within the corporate environment.
The Placement Cell operates throughout the year with the objective of harmonizing industry expectations with students’ potential to contribute effectively from the outset of their careers. Considerable effort is directed towards securing placements that are a strong match for students, both intellectually and culturally. This objective is supported by a comprehensive training calendar and active involvement of the academic faculty in the placement process.
The Placement Cell facilitates multiple placement opportunities during the recruitment season, allowing students the autonomy to select and apply to organizations of their choice. To enhance preparedness, sector-specific and company-specific training programs are regularly conducted, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the demands of prospective employers.
